Crash test dummies are full-scale anthropomorphic test devices (ATD) that simulate the dimensions, weight proportions and articulation of the human body, and are usually instrumented to record data about the dynamic behavior of the ATD in simulated vehicle impacts . We're talking all vehicles from cars to aircrafts and they have evolved tremendously since they were invented way back in the 40's. They became popular in the late 1980's becoming the spokes people for the public service advertising campaign , to educate society on the safety of wearing seat belts.
